This year I became so much more aware again of the role our intention plays AND what it really means to surrender to flow.
Because, my God, like 2021, 2022 was a year I never expected to be like this.
It was a year that brought so many gifts. Even though, of course, it has brought some challenges to the table. But as I said, what we put our focus on is so hugely important as well as to keep questioning and redirecting it.
Every year around this time, I'm often asked what I'm doing to bring the past year to a close. And for at least 13 years, I've actually used the days leading up to New Year's Eve to reflect, let go of the old, and formulate new visions.
So here are the 3 steps I personally take to end the year for me.
1. Reflection
Take time to review the year and remember all the good that happened. Pay special attention to your focus here. At the end of the year, I invite you to reflect on all the good and beautiful things that have happened in the past year. And yes, even if you think that there was nothing worth mentioning - I guarantee you that you will find these moments. Write it all down. If you need a little help remembering, maybe pick up your phone and scroll through your photos of the year. I'm always surprised at what I've already lost track of....
If you've done that, your mood has already improved now and you're already in a better vibration... And now....
2. Let go
Now write a list of all the things you want to leave behind. This can be patterns, people, fears and programs and much more. What do you no longer need in your life? What is holding you back? What doesn't serve you anymore?
Write it down and end with the sentence, "All of this I let go of completely in the most gentlest and most comfortable way. (Again: Intentions are not to be underestimated!)
3. Vision
Now take time to connect with your goals and write down everything you want for the next year and most importantly, why! The clearer you formulate your goals, the better. I always like to work through the year with something I call a flow movie, others have a vision board or a mind movie. I make a string of the things in form of a movie that I would like to live and experience.
Important:
Be aware that these goals come through your filters and therefore are probably still quite small compared to what is possible for you. But you have to start somewhere ;)
Now ask yourself: What if... I would live this now? What if...? Dive into that dream and then let go of that too.
Now you've been dealing with your past year for a while, with what you want to let go of and what you want to change, or achieve. And actually you are already done here and can complete.
But the key to moving forward is always letting go and so I choose now to destroy this list. I like to burn it, but I have also torn it up in the past and thrown it into the sea. If that sounds too weird for you, you may of course just throw it away, but as I said: Every intention has an effect and that's why I like to really make a ritual out of it.
And then look forward to what's waiting for you in the new year.
2022 was a year that showed me once again that if we trust the flow, even out of the greatest chaos and the darkest places, the greatest things can develop.
And so I wish you a happy new year in flow, in which you can achieve your goals with even more ease and that you are able to celebrate and enjoy them too.
Happy New Year
